When it comes to high impact transformations, there’s nothing quite like a hair extension before and after. Hair extensions have taken the beauty world by storm, with a large market that continues to expand year after year, meaning more and more potential clients.
From a stylist’s perspective, hair extensions greatly increase earning potential with multiple ways to boost income: retail profit, higher service cost (we’re talking multiple times color services’ hourly rate), and recurring appointments.

Laced Hair Founder & CEO has been enamored with hair extensions for over 20 years, since they were a huge taboo extension wearers kept hidden at any cost. With this taboo came shady sourcing, wildly varying quality, and inconsistent colors despite the steep price tag.
Lacy set out to disrupt the industry in 2010 with the highest quality hair possible, complete with luxurious quality, transparent sourcing, and a consistency all her competitors lacked. As Laced Hair grew in popularity, Lacy began to notice the same issues in hair extension education, and set out with that as her next mission.
Then and there, the Laced Academy was born, offering all inclusive, hands-on hair extension certifications in the latest and greatest techniques, with qualified instructors in small enough class sizes for one-on-one technique mastery. Throughout the years, Lacy has traveled throughout the U.S. and Canada, certifying thousands of stylists.
When the pandemic hit, she knew something had to be done, and she dedicated months of her life to developing Laced Academy Online. With both certification options and continuing education for hair extension specialists through the Laced Library, stylists are able to develop their skills at their own pace from anywhere in the world.
